Fire Victim Gets Helping Hand To Rebuild House By Aemy Azlena

Bandar Seri Begawan - Haji Maidin bin Mohd, 82, whose home was ravaged by a fire recently, was presented with a donation of B$6,500 by Sunlit Advertising Sdn Bhd, at Kg Pengiran Kerma Indera Lama, yesterday.
The donation, which is meant to help cover the cost of building a new house in place of the previous one, is seen as a form of assistance for Hj Maidin and the eight family members he supports.
Hj Maidin said he would not have been able to pay for the house without such a donation, partly due to his health and also because he relies only on his pension.
Attending the donation presentation ceremony as guest of honour was the Brunei-Muara District Officer, Dato Paduka Awg Hj Md Yussof bin Bakar. Also present were penghulus, heads of villages, members of the village consultative council and government officers from the Brunei-Muara District Office.
In the ceremony, Sunlit Advertising manager Mr Jackson Ting Jack Hing presented the cheque to the guest of honour.
The Brunei-Muara District Officer then handed the cheque - along with an official approval letter for home ownership - to Hj Maidin, the recipient.
The donation had been made possible through the assistance and efforts of the village heads and consultative council as well as the Brunei-Muara District Office.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
